Das „Wasser-ist-Leben“-Team hat beschlossen, dass der „1. Mai“ 2024 – engl. „May Day“ – der perfekte Tag ist, um diese neue, interaktivere „WiL“-Website zu starten: „Mayday! Mayday!“ schreit unsere Wasserversorgung in den Berg- und Küstengebieten von Asterousia auf Kreta!
Und: Am „1. Mai“ feiern Menschen auf der ganzen Welt das Ende des Winters und würdigen die Leistungen der Arbeitnehmer.
Tja, in den letzten neun Monaten hat das ehrenamtliche Team der Website water-is-life.eu hart an der Erstellung dieser neuen, aktualisierten Version der Website gearbeitet. Jetzt ist sie fertig und kann von euch genutzt und ergänzt werden! (Wir freuen uns über Feedback und eure Beiträge im neuen Blog „Wasser-Chat„).
International signalisiert das Wort „Mayday“ bei Flugzeug- und Schiffsbesatzungen: „Hallo! Wir sind in Schwierigkeiten!“ “ Mayday! Mayday!“
Und dass die Süßwasserversorgung hier auf „unserem“ Teil Kretas laut und deutlich „Mayday! Mayday! Hilfe!“ ruft, wird bemerkt und lässt immer mehr Menschen aufhorchen.
Die kritische Situation ist zunehmend Thema in den Nachrichten und Gegenstand nationaler Überlegungen. Lokale und regionale Regierungen diskutieren über die Einführung von Wasserbeschränkungen (so genannte „Wasserverbrauchsverbote“).
