Το νερό είναι ζωή πηγαίνει στο σχολείο!
Η Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Νερού των Ηνωμένων Εθνών είναι πάντα στις 22 Μαρτίου. Το 2023, η τοπική σας ομάδα του το νερό είναι ζωή αποφάσισε να μεταφέρει τα μηνύματα του έργου μας – και του ΟΗΕ – στα παιδιά των σχολείων στο Αντισκάρι και την Πόμπια.

Η μέθοδος μας ήταν να φέρουμε τους εθελοντές πυροσβέστες μας μαζί με τους επαγγελματίες πυροσβέστες από την πεδιάδα της Μεσσαράς: και να τους αφήσουμε να μοιραστούν με τα παιδιά τα εξής:
- Πώς να είστε “ασφαλείς στη φωτιά”
- Το μεγάλο πρόβλημα με τα αποθέματα γλυκού νερού (ότι μας τελειώνει!)
- Πράγματα που μπορούν να επιλέξουν να κάνουν για να σώσουν και να προστατεύσουν το νερό μας – και το μέλλον τους.

Οι εκδηλώσεις ήταν πολύ επιτυχείς. Τα παιδιά άκουγαν πολύ προσεκτικά και μετά μπορούσαν να κάνουν ερωτήσεις. Στην Πόμπια, τα παιδιά είχαν επίσης την ευκαιρία να εξερευνήσουν ένα πραγματικό πυροσβεστικό όχημα και να “γίνουν” τα ίδια πυροσβέστες.
Πριν από την εκδήλωση, οι εθελόντριες του WiL Anja Mikola-Dobbler (ιδέα) και Βούλα Λουκαδάκη (καλλιτέχνης) συνεργάστηκαν για αυτή την εκπληκτική αφίσα. Λέγεται: “Η πόλη της Βουλής των Ελλήνων”:
“Ένα μέλλον με νερό είναι ένα μέλλον με ζωή”. Ρίξτε μια πιο προσεκτική ματιά!
Το παρελθόν: Μέχρι πρόσφατα, η παροχή γλυκού νερού από τους υπόγειους υδροφορείς των Αστερουσίων ήταν άφθονη και παρθένα. Οι άνθρωποι χρησιμοποιούσαν το νερό με προσοχή και φρόντιζαν να γεμίζουν οι υδροφορείς με το διαθέσιμο νερό της βροχής. Υπήρχε μια καλή ισορροπία μεταξύ της διαθέσιμης ποσότητας νερού – και της ζήτησης των ανθρώπων για αυτό.
Το παρόν: Σήμερα, χρησιμοποιούμε (και σπαταλάμε) όλο και περισσότερο νερό. Ταυτόχρονα, έχουμε ως επί το πλείστον σταματήσει να συλλέγουμε το νερό της βροχής. Έχουμε επίσης δημιουργήσει συνθήκες που καθιστούν δύσκολο ή αδύνατο για τη βροχή να διεισδύσει στο έδαφος και να βρει το δρόμο της προς τα αποθέματα γλυκού νερού. Σήμερα, η προσφορά και η ζήτηση είναι εντελώς εκτός ισορροπίας. Οι υδροφόροι ορίζοντές μας είναι ΕΠΙΚΙΝΔΥΝΑ ΧΑΜΗΛΟΙ. Τόσο χαμηλά μάλιστα, που υπάρχει σοβαρός κίνδυνος να εισέλθει αλμυρό θαλασσινό νερό στην παροχή γλυκού νερού.
Το μέλλον: Θα έχουμε ένα πολύ “νεκρό” μέλλον σε αυτή την περιοχή: αλάτι στα αποθέματα γλυκού νερού και ξηρή, άγονη γη. Αυτό ονομάζεται ερημοποίηση. Είναι το μέλλον προς το οποίο οδεύουμε πολύ γρήγορα. Ωστόσο, μπορούμε να διαμορφώσουμε ένα διαφορετικό μέλλον – το μέλλον που θέλουμε.
Ο υδροφόρος ορίζοντας είναι άδειος.
Σε αυτό, οι άνθρωποι εργάζονται όλοι μαζί για να προστατεύσουν και να διατηρήσουν τα αποθέματα γλυκού νερού – τη βάση της ζωής μας. Μειώνουμε τις απαιτήσεις μας σε νερό, “ανακυκλώνουμε” το λεγόμενο “γκρίζο” νερό και φροντίζουμε να μην μολύνουμε το νερό μας (μεταξύ άλλων με τα πλαστικά μας απόβλητα!) Ταυτόχρονα, γεμίζουμε την παροχή – τους υδροφόρους ορίζοντες – και αξιοποιούμε σωστά τη βροχή που έχουμε. Αποκαθιστούμε την ισορροπία.
Οι εθελοντές σκοπεύουν να κάνουν περισσότερες παρουσιάσεις σε τοπικά σχολεία την επόμενη σχολική χρονιά. (Επικοινωνήστε μαζί μας αν το δικό σας σχολείο ενδιαφέρεται!)
